Mill House Conference Centre

The Mill Conference Centre is located at the leading independent family owned country house hotel in the heart of the Cotswolds. This superbly converted stone mill house dating back to the Domesday Book of 1086 is set in ten acres of fabulous lawned gardens in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, and within easy travelling distance of many of England’s finest attractions

The 23 luxurious en-suite bedrooms have views over the hotel gardens, the Cornwell Brook, and the Cotswold Hills. Food

The Mill House Hotel is ideally located in the heart of the Cotswolds between Chipping Norton and Stow-on-the-Wold, yet is only 90 minutes by car from London. Our self-contained conference suite, the Kingham Conference Centre has free Wi-Fi access, full audio visual equipment and its own access and car parking.

The Centre contains five linked conference rooms which can accommodate from 2 to 50 delegates. Business support is available with secretarial services, photocopying and facsimile on site. The Boardroom with its maple wood table can cater for 14 senior personnel. Sliding doors open up to a private terrace overlooking the trout stream.

The Mill House Hotel provides luxury accommodation in double or twin bedded rooms all equipped with satellite television. The Mill Brook restaurant has two rosettes for fine cuisine. Lunch is provided either in the Conference Centre or the Hotel.

The Centre has a refreshment area which supplies a wide choice of teas, coffees, home made cakes, pastries and biscuits throughout the duration of each conference.

The Cotswolds Lounge

The Cotswold Lounge is newly re-furbished and within the main hotel. It can be used as a spacious residents' lounge or, as a conference or meeting room if the hotel is taken for sole occupancy. With its beautiful views across the hotel terrace overlooking the trout stream, it makes an ideal exhibition facility, or, set up theatre style, it can seat up to 70 delegates.

The Kingham Room

The Luxuriously appointed Kingham Room is the largest single room available for corporate and other functions and is central to the conference complex. It can comfortably accommodate up to 50 delegates.

The Board Room

The ideal venue for the more formal meetings where a sense of occasion is important. The Board Room has a superb antique board table and its own private terrace equipped with garden chairs overlooking the grounds and trout stream. Lunch can be served Al Fresco in summer. Evening barbecues make a pleasant diversion from business sessions at the end of the day.

The Churchill Room looks out towards the village of Churchill with All Saints Church spire, a two thirds replica of that at Magdalen College, Oxford. A stone fireplace adds warmth in winter. Beautiful flower displays provide colour throughout the summer.

Grounds for team building

The extensive grounds of the Conference Centre are ideal for team building, training exercises, barbecues and post conference relaxation.

We have ten acres of gardens, lawns and trout stream for challenging motivational and team building activities.

We have run a wide range of events for companies, ranging from fashion shows to car club annual general meetings. We can set up a marquee if required and for those who have their own, we offer marquee equipment storage on site

Fine Dining

The Mill Brook room resturant offers an extensive A La Carte menu using only the very finest seasonal produce: Cotswold raised lamb and beef, freshly caught fish delivered overnight from Brixham harbour and organic vegetables from the Vale of Evesham.

A typical signature dish would be Roast partridge with sprouts chestnuts pancetta and port.

The Hotel has an extensive wine cellar that holds over 120 bins from both the old and new worlds.

If you prefer something simpler, we offer a two course lunch menu in the comfort of the Mill Stream Bar, which in the winter has the warmth of a blazing log fire in the inglenook fireplace.

Cotswold Lounge

We serve light snacks, cream teas and a wide selection of coffees and teas in the Cotswold Lounge and, in the summer, on the terrace overlooking the trout stream.

Pre-dinner cocktails and aperitifs are served in the lounge and a wide choice of malt whiskies, vintage brandies, ports, spirits and local beers are available from the bar

Conference Terms and Conditions

Making a Reservation

The Mill House Hotel will hold a booking provisionally for a period of 2 weeks after which time we reserve the right to release the booking if confirmation has not been received. A booking remains provisional until the hotel is in receipt of written confirmation and signed Terms and Conditions.

Final Numbers

These are required 1 week prior to the date of arrival and will be the minimum number charged for on the day of the conference. If accommodation has been reserved and cancellations are necessary after final numbers have been given, then you will be liable for the charge if the rooms are not resold.

Cancellation Policy

If pre-booked business is less than £3,000:

More than 28 days notice -No charge 22-28 days notice -25% of pre-booked business 15-21 days notice - 50% of pre-booked business 8-14 days notice -75% of pre-booked business Less than 7 days notice -100% of pre-booked business

If pre booked business exceeds £ 3,000:

A cancellation charge will only be made if the facilities you had booked are not re-sold. These terms are negotiable dependent on the finer details of the booking but if no other terms have been agreed in writing then these will apply.

Directions By Road

From Stratford-Upon-Avon or Banbury

Proceed to Chipping Norton, go straight through Chipping Norton High Street to the B4450. After some 2.5 miles go through the village of Churchill ignoring all signs right to Kingham. After the brown tourist board sign for the Mill House Hotel take the next turning right (some two miles past Churchill) and the Mill House Hotel is down the hill on the right hand side.

From the M5 Motorway

Leave the Motorway at Junction 9 (Tewkesbury). Immediately take the A46, then the B4077 to Stow-on-the-Wold. From Stow take the A436 signed Chipping Norton. About 1.5 miles out of Stow fork right signed Bledington and Kingham B4450. Pass through the village of Bledington and about 2 miles on pass Kingham Station on your left. Take the next turning left and the Mill House is down the hill on the right hand side.

From London

Take the A40 / M40 westwards and come off at Junction 8 signed A40 Oxford and Witney and continue towards Cheltenham still on the A40. Turn right at a large roundabout signed Burford and continue down-hill through the main street. Cross the one-way river bridge at the bottom of Burford High Street and immediately fork right signed Chipping Norton. Go through the village of Shipton-under-Wychwood and after pasing the station about a mile out of the village, take the next turning left signed Lyneham and Kingham. Carry straight on this road for some 2.5 miles until you come to a T junction. Turn left, then first right, and the Mill house Hotel is down the hill on the right hand side.

By Rail

Kingham is on the Paddington-Oxford-Worcester-Hereford main line and is some 1 hour 15 minutes by fast train from Paddington. Telephone 658 188 from Kingham Station telephone box on arrival and our car will collect you free of charge.

By Air

London Heathrow Airport then by car (approx. 1 hour 30 minutes) or by coach from Heathrow to Reading station connecting with the Main Line Intercity to Kingham.
